Youth Religious Education

The UUCOV Youth Religious Education (YRE) program
grounds itself in The Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism:

Each person is important

Be kind in all you do

We’re free to learn together

We search for what is true

All people have a voice

Build a fair and peaceful world

We care for planet Earth

Inclusivity

We welcome all persons, regardless of:

  • race, ethnicity, national origin;
  • gender or gender identification, affectional preference or sexual orientation;
  • age, physical or mental challenge;
  • social, economic, or marital status.

Meet The Rose Group!
Our grade 1-3 children named themselves The Rose Group this year. They are working with the Tapestry curriculum “Wonderful Welcome”. This curriculum challenges the teachers, helpers and children alike to explore how and why they are willing to welcome others into their lives.
The focus of each session is on intangible gifts. It is through a variety of intangible gifts that welcome is communicated. Session titles such as The Gift of Love, The Gift of Forgiveness and The Gift of Friends allow our children to think about the powerful intangibles they bring not only to those people and creatures they see each day, but their impact on the world at large.
